Nicasio Andrade, born in Venezuela, and currently based in Brooklyn, is a versatile artist whose journey spans art, design, and illustration.
Graduating with a Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design in 2008, Andrade has made significant contributions to the visual arts, from working with the Museum of Contemporary Art of Zulia to his role as Senior Graphic Designer at WWE.
His innovative work, blending digital and traditional techniques, has earned him accolades, including two Best Design awards at the National Graphic Design Salon of Venezuela in 2006.
In 2023, Andrade returned to his hometown of Maracaibo after nine years to present "Ininteligible ≈ Unintelligible," a significant exhibition exploring cultural identity through intricate calligraphy and symbols. This homecoming marked a pivotal moment in his career, reconnecting him with his roots.
Looking ahead, Andrade is set to exhibit at the Miami International Fine Arts Gallery this July, showcasing a fusion of calligraphy, polygons, and printed paper collages with rug tufting techniques. This upcoming show highlights his continued innovation and exploration of the visual arts.
